SERMACS Partners for Progress and Prosperity (P3) Award

To encourage and recognize successful and exemplary partnerships that have demonstrated an impactful outcome, within the Southeastern Region, in one of the following categories:

  1. Improving the public perception and appreciation for chemistry
  2. Promoting career advancement opportunities and/or supporting entrepreneurship in the chemistry enterprise
  3. Advancing advocacy efforts with government and/or other thought leaders
  4. Supporting STEM education and/or research
These partnerships can be between industry, academia, government, small business and/or other organizations, including ACS local sections, ACS divisions, ACS international chapters, other societies or various entities domestic or overseas.

Award

The award will consist of a special Partners for Progress and Prosperity silver/gold medallion plus a framed certificate of recognition (one for each Partner representing an entity or organization) plus $1,000 a grant split equally between the partners to further the activities for which the award is made. One complimentary SERMACS meeting registration will be provided for each partner as well as two complimentary tickets to the SERMACS Award luncheon. Representatives of the partners will be expected to attend the award event and give a short presentation (no more than 10 min) describing their work.

Eligibility and Application Procedures

Who May Nominate? Any ACS member within the ACS Southeastern Region may submit nominations. Local Sections within the Region are especially encouraged to submit nominations for the award. Organizations may self-nominate.
Who is Eligible? The eligibility criteria are very broad, but at least one partner should reside and conduct its activities within the Southeastern Region. Partners may include industry, academia, government, small business and/or other organizations, including ACS local sections, ACS divisions, ACS international chapters, other societies or various entities domestic or overseas.
